CASTING AND FLY TYING LESSONS

Lessons are charged at £20 per hour

Extended casting lessons including actual fishing with all tackle provided if required can easily be arranged. These lessons are for a minimum of 3 hours.

CASTING TECHNIQUES and STYLES

Overhead, Double Haul, Roll Cast, Slack Line Cast, Reverse Cast, Change Direction Cast, Over and Under Hand Cast and many more. Mick can teach you all these casts and when to use them, to catch you more fish.

We all aim for the perfect casting style but you know styles can be as individual as people, no two are exactly the same. I teach the tried and tested textbook methods but provided an individual achieves what I call the 'SCEEC' standard,
'SAFE'
'CONTROLLED'
'EFFICIENT'
'EFFECTIVE'
'COMFORTABLE'
then not only will it do the job it also becomes pleasurable and that is the aim of all the anglers I know - enjoyment!!

TACKLE and EQUIPMENT

Free and impartial advice is always available on sourcing and buying the right and best tackle and also what represents the best value for money - 'sometimes the two can be very different and the old adage - you usually get what you pay for doesn't always apply!'

SALTWATER FLY FISHING

Over the past few years this has become extremely popular in warmer waters and of late even around the UK coastline. It offers new experiences and challenges and not surprisingly is growing all the time.
By comparison most saltwater species are both powerful and fast and the tackle has to be right. Rods and especially reels, lines and leader set ups have to be up to the job and are very different from those used for trout fishing.

Mick has fished a number of locations along the Gulf Coast of Florida from Tampa down to Naples and has caught Snook, Red fish, Jack Crevalle and Tarpon etc all on the fly. So if you are thinking of having a go Mick can teach you what you need to know to get you started and advise on Guides and tackle shops etc.
Learning and finding out how to fish and what and where to buy for your self can be a lengthy and expensive business compared to the cost of a few hours instruction.
